Social & Behavioral Science

With social work in the behavioral sciences you're in, you're in a job where you are interacting on an individual level with people. You're connecting with people. I think one of the things students get a Tabor as they get to experience that all the time at Tabor. When they're going to get their books from the bookstore, they're going to the post office, they're going to the cafeteria. They're getting practice engaging people in a not a superficial level, but a deeper level.

Our social work program is accredited, which means that you can get your master's in one year after graduating with your bachelor's in social work. So currently, I'm a junior and when I graduate, I can go to any school nationally because our program is recognized, and graduate with my master's in one year.

One of the things that students should be doing is trying to get their education be as versatile and diverse as possible. One of the things that psychology does is actually does that. There's just lots of demand right now for people. This is a difficult world we live in, and we need more people that care and are skilled to help people and so I think we want to try to fill that demand.

It wasn't just about basketball. When I was at Tabor it was like, "We want you to be a student-athlete in and go out and if you see someone hurting, or you see someone in need, like feel that need that's Christ-like." And now I work at a Christian agency and it's like it just the carryover is just awesome and it just helps me be a servant.
